Biography
About Tom
Tom Colontonio has had music flowing through his veins since the age of 11. By 14 he was already working in the studio as a musician.
Tom spent his early years studying every kind of music, from rock to classical, before finding his true passion in dance music. In 1996 he picked up his first set of turntables and never looked back. He spent years as a DJ sharpening his technique, and in late 1998 he discovered the sound of trance.
A New Jersey native, Tom has played some of the region’s biggest parties and most respected clubs. He has since performed in over 27 countries, sharing the stage with NU NRG, Marco V, John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson, Cosmic Gate, Mark Norman, Infected Mushroom, Activa, Andy Moor, Filo & Peri, Mauro Picotto and Paul van Dyk.
His productions quickly earned support from the biggest names in trance, including Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Sean Tyas, John Askew, Activa, John O’Callaghan, John O’Bir and Will Holland. Armin dubbed him the “Man of the moment”. He has released music on Armada, Spinnin’, Discover, Conspiracy, Black Hole’s Subculture and Hardwire, and collaborated in the studio with Sean Tyas, Activa, John O’Callaghan and John Askew.
Tom plays guitar and sings on his own records, which gives his uplifting, melodic trance its signature sound. In 2023 he teamed up with John O’Callaghan and Sinéad McCarthy on “Reality”, followed by “7 Years”, both on Subculture. His latest release is a 2026 remix of “Like You Love Me”.
